Almost One-Third of Russians Want President Putin to Use Social Networks

According to a survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Centre, or VTsIOM, 29% of Russians would read the opinions of Russian President Vladimir Putin on his official website or social media accounts if available, RIA Novosti reported.

The same number of people responded that they would like to read about the president’s views via media outlets. The majority of the polled named the call-in programme “Direct Line with Vladimir Putin” as their preferred method.

The survey showed that 64% of respondents would like to know the president’s opinion on all subjects while 28% would be satisfied with only certain opinions.

The poll was conducted from Jan. 30 to 31 via phone interviews from a sample size of 1,200 people. The margin of error does not exceed 3.5%.
