Biblionight, an annual literary festival, takes place in Moscow on Apr. 22, with Triumfalnaya Square being the event’s main venue. Poetry readings will be held there until the morning of Apr. 23, according to the website mos.ru.

“Guests are invited to participate in ‘Biblionight’ starting at 3 pm on Apr. 22,” the website reads. “The square will be transformed into an art space for the night, with poetry readings and workshops. Visitors will also be able to buy the latest books, meet famous contemporary writers and try out literary cafes.”

This theme of this year’s Biblionight is “New Interpretation” because there will be theatrical performances inspired by famous pieces of writing.

Seven major libraries will stay open through the night until 6 am on Apr. 23. The city’s libraries will stock up on books in order to facilitate BookCrossing during the event. Moreover, they will unveil new services that were developed and implemented over the last year and a half.

This will be the sixth Biblionight. Last year’s was dedicated to the Year of Cinema and the link between moviemaking and world literature.
