A charity event organised by the Konstantin Khabensky charity fund, Vera hospice charity fund and the Ya est! foundation took place on Jan. 28 in Moscow’s VDNKh on the exhibition centre’s ice rink. Muscovites got the chance to take part in workshops with celebrities, watch performances by young figure skaters and witness colourful and spectacular shows. The proceeds and donations from the event will go to various aid programs, according to a press release.
"Our foundation works with special children,” said Ksenia Alferova, an actress and the cofounder of Ya est! “[The event] should be non-intrusive, festive, sporting and kind so that the kids receive the necessary help. VDNKh skating rink gives us this kind of atmosphere for the third year in a row.”
Thanks to fundraising from such events in previous years, the aid programs have managed to help treat 13 children with brain tumours and provide medical equipment and supplies for more than 50 children with serious illnesses, as well as for hospice patients in Moscow, Tula and Petrozavodsk.
