The Faberge Museum in St. Petersburg will host a large-scale exhibition of works by the surrealist artist Salvador Dali between Apr. 1 and July 2, according to the museum’s press service.
The exhibition, titled “Salvador Dali: Surrealist and Classical Artist” will feature over 150 works by Dali provided by the Gala – Salvador Dali Foundation, as well as from other museums and private collections. The pieces will include his famous surrealist works from the 1930s along with his Empordà landscapes.
Visitors will have the chance to see one of Dali’s most interesting works, "Landscape with Mysterious Elements" from 1934, which was inspired by Johannes Vermeer’s "The Art of Painting." The Gala – Salvador Dali Foundation purchased this landscape from a private collector in 2011 for $11.14 million.
