On June 29, a new stage complex "Green Theatre of VDNKh. Stage on the pond" will open at Moscow’s VDNKh exhibition park. A venue designed to host concerts of exquisite music will be located on the Ostankino Park pond, the press-service of the Green Theatre told Afisha.Daily.

The auditorium for 747 seats and a stage will connect the eastern and western shores of the pond. At the same time, a passage for boats between them will remain intact. They may also be connected by mobile pontoon bridges, if needed. Catering points, washrooms and bicycle parking will be built in the spectators zone. The total construction area is 1000 square meters.

"The atmosphere is the most important aspect of any concert, and it will be the main feature of this unique theatre. We were inspired by the floating stage on Grand Canal in Venice, where Pink Floyd had their famous performance in 1989," the project curator Julia Davydova noted.

Different event genres will be held on weekly basis from Thursday to Sunday: a youth programme with the participation of young musicians on Fridays, performances of foreign artists on Saturdays, jazz and neoclassical music evenings on Sundays.

Theatrical part of the programme includes dramatic performances for both children and adults, and a modern ballet with participation of the Moscow Ballet Theatre. The venue will be open for public until September 10, 2017.
