“Touch World,” a museum that simulates what it is like to be blind, opened at the Gorki Gorod resort in the North Caucasus region. The museum, which will plunge visitors into complete darkness so they can best appreciate the challenges of being visually impaired, is the first of its kind and tours for visitors will be led by blind guides.

Guests will be able to visit a room, a market and a cafe. They are invited to experience an ordinary day in the life of a person with a visual disorder to understand the difficulties blind people face on a daily basis.

The All Russia Association for the Blind, or VOS, is supporting the project.
