Forbes has published a list of the best-selling fiction books in Russia in 2016.

As predicted, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” by JK Rowling took first place, while Gregory David Roberts’ “Shantaram-2. Mountain Shadow” came in second, selling a total of 187,204 copies. The books that rounded out the top five, in descending order, were “After You” by Jojo Moyes, “Universal Conspiracy” by Tatyana Ustinova and “Girl Online: On Tour” by video blogger Zoe Sugg.

As Forbes points out, the first five spots were taken by sequels of previous bestsellers. Apart from this, many books that were published in 2015 also sold well in 2016. Two examples are Guzel Yakhina’s "Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes" and "The Minds of Billy Milligan" by Daniel Keyes.
