Arkhangelsk has started offering exclusive trips on icebreakers on the Northern Dvina River and the White Sea, according to TASS, citing the regional tourism agency.
The project is called "Icebreaker Watch" and Chinese tourists have already expressed interest, the agency said. Travellers will have the option of daylong excursions along the Northern Dvina River and scenic cruises in the White Sea.
According to the Arkhangelsk region’s tourism agency, as many as 400,000 tourists visit the region every year. The most popular tourist destinations include the Solovetsky Islands, Arkhangelsk, the ancient town of Kargopol and the Russian Arctic national park.
