International investment banks called Russia the favourite of foreign portfolio investors for 2017, RBC reported with a reference to Bloomberg.
Investors believe that Russia will benefit the most among developing countries from Donald Trump’s presidency. Also, the rouble is supporting the investment attractiveness of Russian assets and the currency became the world’s most profitable in 2016. The Danish Danske Bank expects that by the end of 2017, the dollar will cost 53.20 roubles.
The capitalization of the Russian stock market in 2016 grew by 50.5%, reaching $584 billion, but it is still less than technology giant Apple’s capitalization, which is $625 billion.
