A new landscape park will open next year in Moscow’s VDNKh, according to the city government’s website.
Visitors will be able to walk around the park and see such sights as an aquatic garden with pontoons and a giant chessboard-shaped hedge maze. French landscape architect Michel Pena designed the park and its opening is scheduled for the spring of 2018, as stated in a press release.
The park will be divided into five natural zones, symbolizing the transition from wilderness to human cultivation. A beach will be opened on the shore of the third pond and there will be seats with a canopy protecting them from the sun. A large avenue designed not only for pedestrians but also for bikes and public transport will connect the five park zones.
