Moscow is planning to build more than 50 new parks in 2017, the official website of the Government of Moscow reported.

"A lot was done last year,” said Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin at a meeting of the city government. “We have just as many plans for 2017. More than 80 streets and more than 30 existing parks will be reconstructed, and more than 50 new parks will be created.

This year we plan to rearrange and repair more than 3,000 courtyards in Moscow. This programme will be permanent. Those courtyards repaired in previous years will be repaired again to maintain their proper level.”

Deputy Mayor of Moscow Pyotr Biryukov said that the creation of a comfortable urban environment is one of the city’s priorities.

According to official data, 437 parks and natural areas have been built in Moscow since 2011.
