More Than 2.5 Million Easter Cakes to Be Baked in Moscow

For this year’s Orthodox Easter which falls on April 16, Moscow bakeries will cook over 2.5 million Easter cakes – a total of 750 tons. Muscovites will be able to choose from holiday cakes of various shapes and sizes, reads a statement on official website of the Moscow City Hall.

“About twenty recipes have been applied to craft Easter cakes in our bakeries,” the message reads.

In addition to the cakes, the capital’s enterprises will produce cottage cheese in a special festive packaging.

“The estimated volume of output is over 20 tons. The products will be sold through a retail networks in Moscow and the Moscow region,” said a representative of Moscow Trade Department.

Easter products are being prepared by municipal and private bakeries, large retail chains and small-capacity enterprises.
