Moscow government is ready to buy up to 300 electric buses from a trustworthy supplier which would meet all the requirements, Moscow’s Deputy Mayor for transport Maksim Liksutov said during the global UITP-2017 summit in Montreal, Canada, MOSLENTA reported.
“This year, we are planning to sing a contract with electric bus supplier. We are currently testing various models produced in Russia and looking for an option best-suited for Moscow conditions. We are ready to purchase up to 300 electric buses a year,” Liksutov said in a panel discussion with representatives of the United States, Germany and France.
Liksutov also noted that Moscow will study Montreal’s experience in introducing electric public transport. By 2025, Montreal plans to replace all public vehicles with electric or hybrid ones.
The UITP-2017 global transport summit takes place in Montreal from May 15 to 17. During the summit, the market participants share their experience and demonstrate newest products and modern projects related to the public transport.
