Over 200 Christmas tree markets will traditionally be opened on the streets of the capital before the New Year. The trees will be on sale from Dec. 20th-31st, according to the open data portal of the Moscow government.
The largest number of Christmas tree markets will be located in the Western and Southern administrative districts of the capital. They will be sold by stationary markets and weekend fairs.
Earlier, the Head of the Moscow Department for Trade and Services Alexey Nemeryuk told reporters that the Christmas markets in Moscow were to mainly sell Russian fir-trees. “That which will be sold in our Christmas markets in Moscow will mostly come from neighbouring regions,” Nemeryuk was quoted as saying by the Moskva news agency. The functionary added that everyone would also be able to purchase imported trees.
