The new album “Verismo” by the Russian opera diva Anna Netrebko has been nominated for a prestigious Grammy award. The full list of nominations for 2017 is published on the Grammy's official website.

“Verisimo” will compete in the “Best Classical Solo Vocal Album” category.

Netrebko recorded her work accompanied by the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, with Sir Antonio Pappano conducting. She was joined on the record by her husband, the tenor Yusif Eyvazov.

Netrebko will be vying for the award against Magdalena Kožená with “Monteverdi,” Sabine Devieilhe with “Mozart: The Weber Sisters,” Dorothea Röschmann with her work “Schumann & Berg” and Ian Bostridge with “Shakespeare Songs.”

As had previously been reported, both Beyonce and Adele have also received Grammy nominations for 2017.
