After the holidays come to an end, Muscovites will be able to dispose of their New Year’s trees in an environmentally conscious manner.

Mos.ru reports that the “New Year’s Tree Recyclig-2017” event will be held from Jan. 9-15.

People will be able to drop off their trees at 1/3 Novoyasenevskiy Tupik from 8 AM to 5 PM. The trees will then be transported to a recycling plant, where they will be transformed into fertilizer. The latter will then be delivered to the nursery at the Russian State Agricultural University.

Firs, pines and spruces without decorations and ornaments are eligible for recycling. If the trees are dumped into landfills, they will not decompose properly and will provide no benefit to the environment.
