Russian photo editing app Prisma is now among the most downloaded apps in ten countries, according to data provided by AppAnnie statistics.
Developed by Alexey Moiseenkov, a product manager for My.com and former Yandex employee, Prisma styles photos to make them look like famous works of art and illustrations. It has since been rated among the top downlaoded apps in Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Moldova, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Ukraine.
Outgoing Mail.Ru Group employee Moiseenkov told Vedomosti that over 650,000 Russian users have already downloaded the app, and stressed that Prisma was his personal project.
A source close to the company told RNS that Moiseenkov has not yet officially quit Mail.Ru Group at the time of writing.
Moiseenkov did not respond to inquiries from RNS.
