Bank accounts in the UK for RT, the media outlet formerly known as Russia Today, were closed by a court order, RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said.

“They have closed our accounts in the UK. All accounts. The court decision cannot be appealed,” Simonyan wrote on Twitter.

Maria Zakharova, director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commented on the court’s decision on Facebook, writing, “It seems that while leaving the EU, London has left all of its freedom of speech obligations in Europe. As they say, a new life without bad habits.”
