Russia 45th Among World’s Most Innovative Countries

Russia has become 45th out of 127 in the rating of the world’s most innovative countries, according to the Global Innovation Index. Full list is available here.

Switzerland remains the 1st on the list for seven straight years, followed by Sweden and Netherlands. The top 10 also includes US, Great Britain, Denmark, Singapore, Finland, Germany and Ireland.

African states were least present in the rating: Nigeria took 119th position, followed by Burkina Faso on 120th place and Yemen taking the last 127th position.

Russia has lost 2 positions this year falling from 43rd spot. However, it climbed from 62nd position since 2013 when the rating was published for the first time.
