The Russian Academy of Science’s Institute of Biomedical Problems, or IBMP RAS, is developing a scientific programme for a series of tests on insulation to safeguard International Space Station, or ISS, experiments and to reduce space mission risks, the IBMP RAS said in a statement.

"Tests will be held in IBMP RAS’ experimental complex from 2017 to 2021,” the statement read. “The main partner of the IMBP in this project is NASA, but we hope other foreign agencies and partners will also take part in it.”

After the announcement of the project, a scientific and industrial consortium consisting of more than 20 industrial companies and universities was established in Italy to select research projects that could be included in the IMBP RAS’ scientific programme.
