Contracts to supply 106 Russian military helicopters worth $4.7 billion are underway, head of Rosoboronexport Alexander Mikheev Lenta.ru on Monday.
Rosoboronexport in partnership with Italian companies have also launched a collaborative project for modernisation of Ka-28 helicopters for Indian government, Mikheev added.
“We found an opportunity to work in the interests of Indian counterparts even amid the sanctions,” he said.
Earlier on June 19, Mikheev said that the total volume of Rosoboronexport’s orders for Russian aircraft has reached $19 billion.
Russia supplies a wide range of combat helicopters abroad. Contracts have been inked for export of Ka-52 helicopter (Egypt), the Mi-28NE attack helicopter (Algeria and Iraq) and Mi-35M. A significant order package traditionally belongs to helicopters of the Mi-17 family.
