A new Russian-Chinese passenger aircraft was unveiled at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai, a city on China’s southern coast.

The wide-body airliner was designed in both Russia and China. The model was shown to the chairmen of the boards of the United Aircraft Corporation, or UAC, and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, or COMAC. The ministers of industry and trade from the two countries also attended the event. The aircraft is expected to be put into service in 2020.

On Sept. 13, international news weekly Defenсe News rated UAC as one of the largest companies in the defence industry in terms of earnings, ranking 16th overall with $4.64 billion in revenue.
