The leading Russian online video streaming service Ivi.ru has expanded into its first foreign market. According to vc.ru, the service is now available as a test mode in France.
Users in France currently have access to a limited selection of media content, which includes Russian TV shows and Soviet-era movies. A monthly subscription costs 7€. “We’re interested in opinions of our former compatriots who know about Ivi.ru, but live abroad,” said Olga Volkova, PR Director of the company.
The service is also available in CIS states. Users residing in counties where Ivi.ru is currently unavailable may complete a survey and be eligible for a free month of service if Ivi.ru decides to launch in their region.
