Basic tariffs offered by mobile operators in Russia are much cheaper than similar tariffs in Europe and over one-and-a-half times cheaper than those offered in Indonesia, which is one of the most competitive mobile markets, according to a survey done by iKS-Consulting.

The survey covered 20 countries and discovered that Canada has the most expensive tariffs at nearly $62 a month, followed by the US (between $51 and $56) and South Africa ($47.10). The cheapest tariffs are offered by mobile operators in Russia, Kazakhstan and Poland at $5.19, $5.26 and $7.54 per month, respectively.

However, prices for basic tariffs in Russia have reached their minimum level, analysts warned.
