Revenues of Russian Theatres Leap 80% Within Five Years

Revenues of Russian theatres grew by almost 80% from 2011 to 2016, the Moskva news agency reported, citing Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky.

“Over the past few years, the attendance of our theatres has grown by 18%, that is, last year saw 18% more sold tickets than 2011,” Medinsky said at a lecture on the main aspects of the country's cultural policy.

According to the minister, the revenues of theatres for the same period increased by almost 80%.

In addition, Medinsky said that the attendance of museums in five years has grown by 30%, and the figure is even higher for Moscow museums.
