Minister of Health: Russians Living Longer and Longer

The life expectancy of Russians annually increases by six months, according to Veronika Skvortsova, head of Russia’s Ministry of Health, who spoke at a meeting of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

"The life expectancy of Russians, including the duration of their healthy life, increases each year by six months," the minister said, according to the RNS news agency.

Skvortsova also noted that over the past five years, the life expectancy of Russian men has increased, adding that the number of deaths from influenza has dropped twentyfold as well.
