In Russia, there is the largest proportion of cat owners in the world, the Republic internet magazine reported, citing a study by Dalia Research.

According to the study, 59% of Russians have at least one cat, and 18% have two or more.

“The cats’s main ‘weapon’ is a frontal-oriented and not animal-like flat muzzle with a small mouth, a neat spout and huge eyes,” explains the secretary of the Psychological Institute of the Russian Open Society Galina Shukova. “This nature-made stimulus unequivocally sparks the feeling of affection in an adult person.”
