The Voronezh Region has won the title of Russia’s Literary Flagship in the recent nation-wide Most Reading Region competition, according to the press release received by Gazeta.ru.
Astrakhan Oblast, Krasnoyarsk Krai, the Republic of Tatarstan, St. Petersburg and Sverdlovsk Oblast also secured high positions among the 84 regions that took part in the competition.
The jury was headed by the President of the Russian Book Union Sergei Stepashin. As it was previously reported, the committee also included representatives of the book and library communities, NGOs as well as journalists, literary critics and writers.
The awards ceremony will be held on Nov. 30 in Moscow as part of the International Fair of Intellectual Literature Non\Fiction.
