Sergey Lukyanov, a 62-year-old man from St. Petersburg, recently returned home after circling the globe by foot over a two-year period, Regnum reported.
His journey began in St. Petersburg’s Palace Square on Apr. 1, 2015. He planned to return home by spring 2017 but arrived a few months early.
During his journey, Lukyanov covered 23,300 kilometres and visited 21 countries. He spent about a million roubles ($16,867), lost 14 kilograms of weight and became a grandfather. Although Lukyanov had to fly from Singapore to Chile as well as from Brazil to Russia, he walked the rest of the way by foot.
