Free public Wi-Fi network was launched Tuesday on the Orange (4th) line of the St. Petersburg subway system, the Interfax news agency reported.

MaxTelecom, the company standing behind Moscow public Wi-Fi, became the provider of newly-launched St. Petersburg network. The company expects to recoup 1.3 billion roubles of their primal investments in 7-8 years with the help of ads and partner materials.

All five lines of the St. Petersburg metro will be equipped with free Wi-Fi by the end of the year, according to the MaxTelecom’s plan. The Purple (5th) line will become the next to be connected to the network.
