The Colours of Moscow

Moscow photographer Dmitry Chistoprudov, founder of the Vostok agency, captured unique views of Moscow during weather conditions that occur only a couple times a year.

“This sort of weather occurs only several times a year,” Chistoprudov said. “When a warm cyclone comes in after a period of low temperatures, cold air is pushed out of the city. This leads to beauty you cannot witness from the ground.”

“I used two Canon 5D Mark III cameras and Adobe Lightroom for colour correction,” Chistoprudov explained. “The photos were not manipulated in any way. I’m a freelance photographer for Ostankino Tower and I frequently visit it, so there were no problems with getting the permits quickly. The shot was an hour long, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm I visit skyscrapers for work often so I’m used to the height and I wasn’t scared.”
