Girls as well as boys want to test themselves in the Russian Navy and in 2015 the Naval Polytechnic Institute of the Russian Navy resumed accepting girls. At the institute, which dates back more than 200 years to 1798, future female naval specialists face tough competition. For example, 15 girls were applying for one place in the Navy Automated Control Systems department.
