Yoga classes during which participants can or literally must drink beer, opened in Moscow this week. The first session of the controversial class was conducted on Thursday by yoga coach Marina Vovchenko.
According to one of the participants, this approach is exactly what yoga lacked throughout the whole history of its existence.
Beer yoga implies completion of classical asanas (yoga poses) with a bottle of beer in hands or even on the head. “Beer yoga is the marriage of two greatest mind therapies that have been practiced by humanity for ages,” reads a statement on the project’s official website.
The first-ever training for yoga and beer lovers was held in the US during the 2014 Burning Man festival. Such activities are currently available for residents of Berlin and Sydney.
